Thomasville Police Department issued the following announcement on Aug. 26.
Thomasville officers arrested an 18-year-old man Thursday afternoon after responding to a domestic call at 500 Irene Street. At 3:02 p.m., officers were dispatched to 500 Irene Street in reference to a child screaming and stating someone was dead.
Responding officers arrived on scene and found an 11-year-old female and a 41-year-old female suffering from stab wounds inside the residence. A 5-year-old girl was also inside but did not appear to be injured.
All three were transported to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital by Davidson County EMS. Detectives learned there was a domestic dispute involving Javier Alexander Estrada-Ochoa, 18, of 500 Irene Street, and his mother. The dispute escalated to where Estrada-Ochoa stabbed is mother multiple times. During the incident, Estrada-Ochoa also stabbed his 11-year-old sister. His 5-yearold sister was not harmed. Despite being stabbed, the 11-year-old was able to call 911 and get help for her mother. Estrada-Ochoa was still on scene when officers arrived. He was placed into custody without further incident.
The mother is currently in ICU and is listed as being in serious but stable condition. The 11-yearold is in stable condition. Estrada-Ochoa has been charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, and assault on a child under 12. Estrada-Ochoa is currently in the Davidson County Jail under no bond due to being domestic related. Court date is set for September 22, 2021.
