School10

Randolph County Sheriff's Office issued the following announcement on Aug. 20.

The Randolph County Sheriffs Office Community Based Programs Division hosted the first annual Junior Sheriff's Academy for Randolph County Functional Learning (FL) students.

The Cadets were sworn in as Junior Deputies by Sheriff Seabolt. Subsequently they enjoyed demonstrations by the Sheriff's Office K9 Unit, Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team with WALTER, the Motor Unit, Command One - the mobile command center, Asheboro Fire Department followed by the NCSHP and their helicopter fly in.

The School Resource Officers enjoyed the camp as much, if not more that the cadets. As Sheriff Seabolt stated "today was more rewarding to us than it was for the Cadets; we were the ones blessed by them.”

The Randolph County Sheriff's Office thanks the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and Asheboro Fire Department for helping make this event extra special, for our extra special students.
