The Randolph County Sheriff's Office has received several reports of someone pretending to be a Randolph County Sheriff's Office Deputy. The "deputy" claims to be a "Sgt. Johnson" who tells the victim there is an arrest warrant for them for failing to give a DNA sample or missing court. They request a payment to avoid the warrant. Please know: THIS IS A SCAM.
Other calls have advised that jury duty or other civil summons was missed and now monies are owed.
We do NOT call to tell you we have warrants for your arrest.
We do NOT dismiss warrants for arrest.
We do NOT accept payment in any form, even gift cards, over the phone
If you receive this kind of phone call, hang up immediately.
