Law enforcement from all around Randolph County will gather at the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office for the fourth annual “Blessing of the Badges” on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at noon. The public is invited to join us for a special ceremony to honor every law enforcement officer in Randolph County for their dedication to serve their community. Come and let us pray for and thank them for their endless dedication to the safety of our communities.
In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. Currently, tens of thousands of law enforcement officers from around the world converge on Washington, DC to participate in a number of planned events which honor those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice. Peace Officers Memorial Day honors federal, state, and local officers killed or disabled in the line of duty.
The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office has presented a Resolution, designating the week of May 11 - May 17, 2022, as “National Police Week'' in Randolph County, to the Randolph County Board of Commissioners for consideration of approval at their May 2, 2022, meeting.
The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office will be observing National Police Week May 11-17, 2022, and Peace Officers Memorial Day on May 15th. We will be hosting the fourth annual “Blessing of the Badges” on May 19, 2022. Everyone is welcome to attend as we pray for and honor every law enforcement officer in Randolph County for their dedication in protecting and serving our community. The brief service will be held on the Sheriff’s Office lawn at noon. (Rain locations: Randolph County Office Building Meeting Room A).
We will be praying for every law enforcement officer and agency in Randolph County and their dedication to protecting and serving our community.
