Several years ago, a young man asked Mayor David Smith if he could help demonstrate the community's acceptance of people with autism and support of them and their loved ones by having City Hall Light It Up Blue on World Autism Awareness Day. "Inspired by him and our conversation," Mayor Smith remarked last week, "I committed to the city being a part of Light it Up Blue not only for that one day, but for the entire month. City Hall has been illuminated blue every April since.”
