Ramseur Fire Department issued the following announcement on Aug. 10.
Insurance Commissioner & State Fire Marshal Mike Causey proudly awarded grant money to volunteer fire departments in Randolph County Monday. This is part of a statewide program providing more than $9.8 million in matching funds for 554 volunteer fire departments to help them purchase much needed equipment and turnout gear to help protect their communities!
Assistant Chief Craig Parrish represented Ramseur Fire. We plan to use these funds to purchase new turnout gear, helmets and boots that have aged out of service, new SCBA bottles that have also aged out and a new thermal imaging camera to replace our 14 year old one that is longer supported by the manufacturer.
