This past week our Randolph County Fire Marshal’s Office hosted a Hands-on Vehicle Arson Class which was presented by Steve Riggs with Legal & Liability Risk Management Institute along with the National Association of Fire Investigators.
The class spent three days combining both classroom and hands-on practical skills in the field.
Fire Investigators from Westside Fire, Randleman Fire, Kill Devil Hill Fire, Wake County Fire Services, New Hanover Fire Services, Randolph County Fire Marshal’s Office, as well as Hickory PD, and Donan Investigations attended the class.
Students had the opportunity to learn all aspects necessary to conduct an origin and cause investigation on a wide array of vehicles as well as test for both the Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator and Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator during the class.
