U.S. House of Representatives incumbent Ted Budd (R-N.C.) has secured his seat representing District 13 for another term.

Budd, a Davie County resident and graduate of Wake Forest University, won with an overwhelming 78.63% majority over his Democratic opponent Scott Huffman. Budd received 55,012 votes to Huffman's 14,954.

Since his win, Budd has sent a letter on Nov. 6 to the U.S. Department of Justice demanding investigations into the election and ballot-counting process's integrity.

"What are you doing to ensure the integrity of the voting and counting process right now?" Budd wrote in the letter posted to his Facebook page. "Will you commit to using all the resources at your disposal to ensure that only legal votes are being counted and being counted in a fully transparent manner immediately?"

Budd's letter to Attorney General William Barr was co-signed by 38 additional House members.

"The Justice Department's Civil Rights Division Voting Section's responsibility is to ensure that the right to vote is sacred," Budd wrote in the letter. "This not only means access to the ballot box, but it also means ensuring that no one's vote is devalued by any means of voter fraud."

Republicans have irregularities in the election, in defense of President Donald Trump, who has made similar claims.
