The Asheboro/Randolph Chamber of Commerce wants business owners still open during COVID-19 restrictions to consider a "very generous from our friends at WKXR," according to its April 10 Facebook post.
The local radio station started a new program called Swap Shop, the chamber shared in a post from Larry Reid, who is a weekday morning on-air personality for the station.
“We all are in the midst of testing times," Reid posted. "In this period of uncertainty, WKXR is ready to play its part. All the businesses of Asheboro, Randolph and the surrounding counties in North Carolina are welcome to record a short message relevant to your business or service.”
The station will dedicate Friday’s show to helping out local businesses. The show will be aired as ‘Everybody’s Day” every Friday from 9:05 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Businesses can call 336-625-1260 for a chance to be featured on the radio show.
