Randolph County Sheriff’s Office arrests man on child sex offense charges

On December 27, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office began investigating a reported sex offense involving a minor. The Criminal Investigations Division conducted an inquiry into the allegations.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, “charges were sought against Taijuan Jadell Matthews for felony indecent liberties with a child and felony statutory rape of child <=15 and the magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant for arrest."

Taijuan Jadell Matthews, age 22, was located and arrested on January 7, 2026. He was taken to the Randolph County Detention Center. Authorities stated that he was issued no bond and scheduled for a first appearance in Randolph County District Court on January 7, 2026.
