On November 21, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported burglary on Jerico Road in Asheboro. After an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, charges were brought against Savion Scott Crowe for felony breaking and/or entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, and misdemeanor possession of stolen property. The magistrate determined there was probable cause and issued a warrant for Crowe’s arrest.
Crowe, age 19, was located and arrested on November 13, 2025. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served with his warrant. Crowe received a $65,000 secured bond. His first court appearance was scheduled for November 14, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
In related community statistics, recent data from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction shows that college readiness among students in Randolph County remains low across several academic areas. For example, only about 15.9% of senior students who took the science portion of the ACT in local school districts during the 2022-23 school year were considered ready for college (https://www.dpi.nc.gov/). Junior students performed similarly in science readiness at 14.2% (https://www.dpi.nc.gov/). In reading, 23.6% of seniors met college readiness benchmarks while juniors reached 21.1% (https://www.dpi.nc.gov/). Math scores showed even lower rates: just 13.1% of seniors and 10.1% of juniors were deemed ready for college-level math work (https://www.dpi.nc.gov/).
