On Friday, March 7, former Providence Grove High School standout Makayla McClain’s current college team, the Appalachian State Mountaineers, lost 11-3 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Austin Peay Lady Govs.

The game took place at Cathi Maynard Park. This was their first matchup against the Lady Govs this season.

The Mountaineers’ next game is scheduled for Sunday, March 9 at 1 p.m. at Cathi Maynard Park against Austin Peay Lady Govs.
