On Wednesday, March 19, former Eastern Randolph High School standout Ayanna Mears’ current college team, the North Carolina A&T Aggies, won 19-1 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks.
The game took place at Lady Aggies Softball Complex. This was their second matchup against the Hawks this season.
The Aggies’ next game is scheduled for Friday, March 21 at 2 p.m. at Boseman Field against UNC Wilmington Seahawks.
Archdale will host its 6th Annual Field of Honor Dedication to honor fallen service members. A brief ceremony and flag display are planned at Park Drive from May 21 through June 1.
Joshua Paul Dix has been arrested and charged with multiple counts related to sexual exploitation of a minor after an investigation by local authorities. The Invictus Task Force led efforts resulting in his arrest on May 7. The investigation is ongoing.
On March 3, 2026, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Team attempted to serve a felony arrest warrant on Justin Curtis Pugh at a residence on Rose Ave. in Asheboro.
