On Saturday, March 15, former Providence Grove High School standout Makayla McClain’s current college team, the Appalachian State Mountaineers, lost 7-4 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Texas State Bobcats.

The game took place at Bobcat Softball Stadium. This was their second matchup against the Bobcats this season.

The Mountaineers’ next game is scheduled for Sunday, March 16 at 11 a.m. at Bobcat Softball Stadium against Texas State Bobcats.

Joshua Paul Dix has been arrested and charged with multiple counts related to sexual exploitation of a minor after an investigation by local authorities. The Invictus Task Force led efforts resulting in his arrest on May 7. The investigation is ongoing.
