On Sunday, March 30, former Providence Grove High School standout Luke Thomas’ current college team, the UNC Greensboro Spartans, lost 8-6 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the VMI Keydets.

The game took place at Lamore Field at Gray-Minor Stadium. This was their third matchup against the Keydets this season.

The Spartans’ next game is scheduled for Tuesday, April 1 at 6 p.m. at Doak Field at Dail Park against North Carolina State Wolfpack.

Joshua Paul Dix has been arrested and charged with multiple counts related to sexual exploitation of a minor after an investigation by local authorities. The Invictus Task Force led efforts resulting in his arrest on May 7. The investigation is ongoing.
