On Saturday, May 24, former Southwestern Randolph High School standout Blake Marsh’s current collegiate team the Catawba Indians lost 1-6 against the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears in the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship.
The game took place at Newman Park at 6 p.m. and was the third matchup against the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears in the tournament.
The Catawba Indians’ next game will take place on Saturday, May 24 at 6 p.m. at Newman Park.
Archdale will host its 6th Annual Field of Honor Dedication to honor fallen service members. A brief ceremony and flag display are planned at Park Drive from May 21 through June 1.
Joshua Paul Dix has been arrested and charged with multiple counts related to sexual exploitation of a minor after an investigation by local authorities. The Invictus Task Force led efforts resulting in his arrest on May 7. The investigation is ongoing.
On March 3, 2026, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Team attempted to serve a felony arrest warrant on Justin Curtis Pugh at a residence on Rose Ave. in Asheboro.
