On Sunday, March 23, former Southwestern Randolph High School standout Alex Coleman’s current college team, the North Carolina Tar Heels, won 14-3 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Louisville Cardinals.
The game took place at Anderson Softball Stadium. This was their fifth matchup against the Cardinals this season.
The Tar Heels’ next game is scheduled for Sunday, March 23 at 12 p.m. at Anderson Softball Stadium against Louisville Cardinals.
Archdale will host its 6th Annual Field of Honor Dedication to honor fallen service members. A brief ceremony and flag display are planned at Park Drive from May 21 through June 1.
Joshua Paul Dix has been arrested and charged with multiple counts related to sexual exploitation of a minor after an investigation by local authorities. The Invictus Task Force led efforts resulting in his arrest on May 7. The investigation is ongoing.
On March 3, 2026, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Team attempted to serve a felony arrest warrant on Justin Curtis Pugh at a residence on Rose Ave. in Asheboro.
